I consider myself to be a Human Being first and an American second. As such, I place humanity over country. If that makes me less patriotic, it makes patriots less human.

Given that Joss Whedon has just directed a record-smashing hit blockbuster movie that made utter fuckloads of money, I think it's safe to say that he's got the green light to do pretty much whatever he wants now.
